LODGE MEETINGS
The fourth fortnightly meeting of "the new lodge, Kupe Lodge, No. 149, 1.0.0; F., N.Z., was held last Tuesday, Bro. J. Rice presi4ing r over a good attendance. One brother was reported to be in hospital. Bro. Whiting, N.G., of Cleveland, and Bro. P. Lee, P.G., Southern Cross Lodge, were in attendance, and conveyed, fraternal greetings. After the meeting an adjournment was made to St. Jude's Hall, where a. social was held. Bro. K. Tahifri and Bro, Thompson supplied the music.
The fortnightly meeting of Southern. Cross Lodge, No. 24, .1.0.0.1?., was held •recently: Bro. W. J. Jarvis, N.G., presided over a large assemblage. Six brothers were reported as still on the sick.list, and relative sick pay. was passed. The" acting D.D.G.M., Bro. F.'. A hearty welcome was accorded visitors, and re-, plied to by Bro. Pearce, P.G. (Panhurst Lodge, N.S.W.),- 8r0... J. C. E. Turner, P.G. (Muritai), BrW Whiting (Cleveland), Bro. Rice, P.G. (Kupe), Bro; Wells (Wildey), and Bro. Hardham, P.G. (Zealandia), Lily of the Valley Rebekah Lodge, No. j 57, 1.0.0. F., N.Z., .held its" fortnightly meeting last Monday at. Heretaunga, Sister Mouatt, N.G., presiding... There was a large attendance. Three new members were proposed, making a to^al of seven awaiting initiation. At^the conclusion-of business: Lily of the Valley . and Waiwhetu Lodges combined to hold a dance. Several sisters from Wellington lodges were .present, and all pronounced the evening, a success. The fortnightly 'meeting of Maraeniii Lodge, No. 124, 1.0.0.V., N.Z., was held. at. Miramar recently. Bro. It. C. Satherley, N.G., presided over a, large attendance. During the evening the acting D.D.G.M., Bro. Jones, and district lodge officers installed the following officers .for the ensuing term:—N.G., Bro. Evans; V.G., Bro. Halley; rec! secretary, Bro. Elliott; fin. secretary, Bro. Hogan; treas- • urer, Bro. Pearce; warden, Bro. Fraser; conductor, Bro.'Parmenter; chaplain, Bro. Histed; R.S.N.G., Bro. Cozens, P.G.; L.S.N.G.; Bro. Day; R.S.V.G.. Bro. Davies' L.S.V.G., Bro. Milford; R.S.S., Bro'. Baker; L.S.S., Poulter; 1.G., Bro. Torkington;. 0.G., Bro. Longhurst. The acting D.D.G.M. presented Bro. Phillips with a past grand's collar, and a bar to his ritual badge jewel. Bro. • Milford was aleo presented with a jewel for winning the junior competition. Both brothers suitably replied. ' A considerable amount of cor-. respondence was dealt with, and the quarterly accounts were.passed for payment. One application for membership-was rtceived, . .......
