It caused heavy rain during the night at places In the Bast Cape and Gisborne districts, but' conditions (were.flno there by this morning.- ■ In most I other parts of the Dominion, except for a few Isolated showers in the western and southern ! districts, the weather has been fair and mild. This morning, however, a new cyclone of considerable intensity is shown on the weather chart, being centred south-west of Norfolk Island. It was already beginning to affect parts of New Zealand. Winds have become northerly again over most of the North Island, whtls In the South.they were variable. ■.
