AUSTRALIAN VISIT OPPOSED

v , " PALMERSTON N., This' Day. : The Manawatu Football Association last night decided not to support the suggested tour by an Australian team this year, contending that the New Zealand Football Association should endeavour to reduce its present overdraft before attempting to finance a tour. ■ •■
The meeting also recommended that the affiliation fee for each football association throughout New Zealand should be doubled this year as a step towards reducing the £300 deficiency in the New Zealand Football Association's finances. '
