FREE SCHOOL BOOKS
FOR NECESSITOUS CASES

NAPIER, 11th March,
A fact perhaps not generally known was made clear to a deputation by the Minister of Education, the Hon. II; Atmore, to-night when complaints wore voiced concerning the cost of school books. .' , .
The Minister said that for many years it had been the policy of tho Department and the boards to provido free school booka in necessitous cases. All that was required of parents was to approach the teachers,, and on thei).' recommendation books were supplied by the board, such books becoming tho child's property and not merely out on loan.
