A message from . Whiting, Indian^ states that John D: Rockefeller, jur*, won the biggest fight of his business career when he succeeded in ousting Colonel Robert Stewart from the boaijl of directors of the Standard Oil Cortipany of Indiana, after personal a.v&» mosities resulting from months of figbijing between them. Thus the issue off "moral fitness" which Mr. Rockefeller raised against the head of tho Indiana concern due to his connection with the Continental Trading Company in tl» famous oil scandals, was approved bjy tho company's investors. The total vote for the Rockefeller slate was approximately eight million and a half shares against, slightly under three million for Stewart. Mr; Rockefeller was in Europe at the time of the meet*ing, but Mr. Stewart was present.
