MEN SENT TO GAOL

NAPIER, This Day.

In the cases arising out of the trouble at Port Almriri on 10th December last, when firemen delayed the sailing of the coastal vessel Tangaroa, three firemen and a watersider, B. Derbyshire, O. MuUiolland, J. M'Kenzie, and E. Farmer, on charges of lawlessness and intimidation, were convicted and ' sentenced to one month's hard labour and fourteen days respectively, in the Napier Police Court by Mr. A. M. Mow--Icm, S.M., this morning. E. Hewitt, characterised by tho Magistrate as the ringleader, was sentenced to two mouths on the first charge and fourteen days on the second. On a charge of assault he was fined £10, with costs, in default two months' imprisonment.
