Tlie Secretary of the Interior, Mr. Hubert Work! tho newly-elected chairman of the Republican National Committee, declared that the Hoover campaign would not bo marked by a great expenditure of money. The HardingCoolidgc campaign cost over five million dollars. The Coolidge-Daves campaign involved more than three millions,, but it was pointed out by Mr. Mellon in this connection: "Hoover's chances for election are brighter. The D'nocr'ats lack a genuine issup upon which they can appeal for the nation's support, and the current prosperity of the country, and the contentment of the people as a whole, augur well for the election of Republicans."
