ANNUAL BOAT RACE
CHRIST'S BEAT WANGANUI
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHEISTCHURCH, 15th Dec. ..! Christ's College beat Wanganui Collogiato School in the annual boat race on the Avon Eiver to-day. The river was swollen by/ rain, and the race was rowed against a heavy head wind. They wont away beautifully together, and soon had a lead from Christ's College. A quarter of a milo from home the College coxswain palled on his crew, and they responded nobly and drew level two hundred yards from home. Wanganui made a last effort, and the nose of their boat was in front momentarily, but Christ's College forged ahead again to win by three-quarters of a length. The time for the mile course was 6min 52sec. The crews were as follow:—Christ's College: C. H. Bachelor (bow), C. Neale (2), P. C. White (3), D. G-. M'Hardy (stroke). Wanganui: H. G. Kemp, N. E. Syme, T. S. EUingham. W. E. Taylor.
