BOMBED TO SUBMISSION

AIR FORCE ACHIEVEMENT

DELHI, 12th June. revival of tribal unrest on the North Indian frontier near Peshawar was successfully quelled by bombing operatious of tho Royal Air Force. Raiding tribesmen, fifteen hundred strong from north of the Kabul River, crossed the frontier and attacked the Mahmand Forts held by tribes friendly to the British. Nineteen aeroplanes made attacks for four days on the hostile tribes, inflicting many casualties and creating an excellent moral effect. All the machines returned safely-

The achievement is regarded as magnificent in view of tho fact that the temperature was over 110 degrees. This is the first attack for eight years on frontier posts in the Peshawar district.
