INDIAN MISSIONARY
A visitor to Wellington durinff the past week has .been the Rev. R. N! uJhie 11 missionary on furlough from India. Mr* J)utine is associated.with the Methodist Jvpiscopal Church of the United States, aiicl tor 29 years has been workino- j n the Loinbay Presidency. The mission has a Christian community of 489,217, -of whom -),404 were baptised in the year 1925. In connection with the mission there are 1301 schools of a 1 grades, including three "colleges, 22 high\schoblsuahd numerous normal ; and ; -training schools, the registered attendance of scholars being 42 On luesday afternoon Mr. Duthie addressed ihc members, of the Island Buy Baptist Church branch of the Baptist Won en's Missionary Union, and on Sunday he conducted the morning service in the same church.". On both occasions he give interesting accounts of the operations carried on by the members of the mission in the southern part of India
