SANDERS CUP
MEASUREMENT OF BOATS
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.)
AUCKLAND, This Day. The measurement of new boats in future Sanders Cup contests was discussed by the Auckland Yacht and Motorboat Association. The Otago Yacht and Motor-boat Association wrote expressing its disapproval of the proposal to appoint a Dominion measurer and asked that steps should bo taken so as to ensure that all new boats would be eligible to compete in future contests. '
The chairman, Mr. Johnston, said that he agreed that a Dominion measuror was out of the question on account of tho expense. Mr. Moller said there was a groat deal of dissatisfaction in the South last year over tho measuring of a certain boat, which had been given a certificate in extraordinary circumstances. In view of this some attempt should bo made to have the boats measured under a system that would satisfy all concerned.
The chairman • said that the use of master-moulds would got over the difficulty, but they were very costly to make, and to transport from place to place.
The meeting decided to suggest to the Dominion conference tho advisability of considering the purchase of master-moulds for the measuring of new Sanders Cup contestants.
