C4OVERNMENT .CONTRIBUTIONS

LONDON, 16th March. In the House of Commons Mr. Baldwin announced that the Government was prepared to grant from the Boads Fund three-quarters of the cost of reconstructing the existing Waterloo Bridge as recommended by the Eoyal Commission on cross river traffic. The Government is inviting the London County Council and the Southern Bailway to examine the proposal for a double-decker road and railway bridge at Charing. Cross, and is prepared to contribute to it.
