RUGBY, 16th March. Increased expenditure on higher education, offset by reduced expenditure on elementary education, is the feature of the Board of Education estimates just issued. The estimated expendituro in the coming financial year is over £53,000,000, an increase of £174,000. Tho amount set aside to assist students to go to universities, educational training colleges, and science and art colleges shows an increase, and is barely £200,000. Pensions to teachers exceed £4,000,000.
