EIFFEL TOWER
SIGNS OF GENERAL STRAIN

PAEIS, 16th March. It is reported that engineers are considerably exercised as to the condition of the Eiffel Tower, in which, owing to wind stresses -ud expansion and contraction by heat or cold, 18,000 bolts snap yearly, keeping repairers constantly employed. Engineers detect signs of a general strain. Some recommend a thin protective coating of cement.
