Dr. Valintine said that it had been proposed by tho Otago UniveSity that the Health Department should send two 'cZT^V 0 g?in one in Canada and and tho other m England. With that proposition he was heartily m agreement, but thon camo tho amazing suggestion that the Department should pay their salaries on their return to New Zealand.. B,e suggested that if anything were dono it should be begun at the Auckland University College, because Auckland had tho largest hospital in New Zealand and for that, reason was entitled to tho greatest consideration.
