NEW ZEALAND DINNER

ELECTION OF OFFICERS

PRINCE OF WALES INVITED

LONDON, 15th Dec.

When two years ago it was decided to continue holding the New Zealand annual dinners in London, a self-constituted committee was set up. The committee did well on the last two occasions, but it was thought that all New Zealanders in England should have an opportunity of setting the annual dinner organisation on a proper footing and of electing their own officials. A meeting was therefore held a few days ago for this purpose. Sir Thomas Parkinson was in the chair. It was stated that the balance in hand amounted to £17 15s lid.

The rules which had been drawn up by the existing committee at a previous meeting were adopted, and then the whole ot tlm committee retired.

Sir Thomas Parkinson intimated th.it owing to ill-health lie would no longer be able to continue as chairman. Mr. L E L. Donne mentioned that Sir Thomas had been connected with the organisation before the war, and as chairman during the past two years he had thrown himself lieari and soul into the movement. Sir James Parr -was elected president; Sir James Mills and Sir Thomas Parkinson were elected vice-presidents; Mr. L. -h. U Donne, honorary secretary; Mr. C. •J. Wray, honorary treasurer; and Mr T B. Clung, honorary auditor. The following were elected to the committee:— Dr .J. Macnaughtan Christie, C.B.E , Mr O J. Cowan, Mr. Alexander Crabb, Mr.' h! r?B- P l*^' Mr- X- S. Forgyth, LieutColonel N. .Sir. James." Parr and Messrs. Donne, Wray Ching, Hanua, Williams, and I'oi-syth were elected an executive committee.

It was decided to invite the Prince of VVa es to the next dinner, which will be held between the 10th and 17th June
