LATE SIR HENRY BRETT

AUCKLAND, This Day. A resolution expressing regret at the loss suffered by the death of Sir Honry Brett was passed by the City Council last evening. The resolution referred to the services rendered to the city by Sir Henry during his torm as Mayor, and also to his generous assistance to various causes and institutions in Auckland.

The Mayor, Mr. G. Baildon, said that it was not for him to add to the resolution. They all knew what a fine citizen Sir Henry hnd been and what he had done for the city. The resolution wa3 passed, members standing in silence.
