C. H. Downes, for commencing a building before notifying the scaffolding inspector, was fined £3.
Judgment for plaintiffs by default was given in the following undefended civil, cases:—R. D. Barron v. L. England, £5 ss; C. B. Fisher v. G. E Stannard, £8 13s 6d.
In a defended case J. M'Cowden (Mr. C. E. Barrett) v. F. D. Cornwall and J. T. Hall (Mr. W. P. Shoriand), a claim for £25 for ploughing, discing, auii harrowing upwards of three acres of land in Stokes Valley, defendant claimed that the charge was excessive. Judgment was given for plaintiff for the amount of £10.
W. Kilmister (Mr. P. Jackson) proceeded against P. DE. Hodgkins to recover £20, the value of sheep alleged to have been killed, and other sheep alleged to have been injured by the defendant's aog, which had been shot by the plaintiff. Judgment was given for the amount claimed.
In judgment summons cases V. Forsyth was ordered to pay the Geange Carrying Company £6 2s 6d forthwith or suffer six dayj,' imprisonment; W. J. Allison to pay IT. M'Cann £2 7s 8d forthwith or two days; L. England to pay M. K. Buck 833 6s 6d or thirtythree days; A. Gough to pay J. M'Cowdetf £5 4s 6d or five days; and H. J. Harding to pay L. Sandiford £10 9s 3d or ten days.
