SHOW ASSOCIATION
MEETING OF EXECUTIVE
SUB-COMMITTEES APPOINTED,
The executive committee of the Wellington Show Association met last evening, Mr. E. H. Nimmo presiding. Messrs. J. H". Gray, Tolan, and Render, new members, were welcomed to the executive. reeling reference to the death of Mr. Fred. Pirani was made by the chairman, and it was decided that a letter of condolence be sent to his widow. Members stood for a moment in respect to the memory of Mr. Pirani. "Ho had the confidence and respect, not only of the members of this executive, but of the whole of the community," said Mr. Nimmo. "He was a man who gave of his best in the service of the public, and hie dreath has been a loss to this city and to the Dominion as a whole." The chairman reported briefly upon a visit made to the Carterton Show in company with several other members. They were well received and well entertained, he said, and the s # how was a huge success. Difficulty was experienced ii. getting stock to the show, owing to floods in the Manawatu, but so enthusiastic were siome of the exhibitors that they hired motor-lorries and carted their stock from miles around, even from as fur as the Hawies £ay district. The exhibits were of a very high class. Greetings were sent to the association, and the Carterton Show authorities had promised support for the association's future shows. Mr. W. M. Bolt also reported at length on a visit to the Hawkes Bay Show. Votes of thanks to Mr. Bolt, and the members who visited Carterton, were passed. The meeting then went into committee on questions connected with its proposed new building.
