LONDON, 4th January. Lady Drummond-Hay, writing in the "Daily Express" from Milan, states that Prince Carol characterises the newspaper reports as "lies and infamous propaganda against my family," but refuses to be interviewed or make a detailed statement. Lady Drummond-Hay adds that the renunciation of the throne has been wholly voluntary. When the Consul of Rumania at Milan informed Prince Carol that,the King had formally announced tha Prince's renunciation, the latter flew into an uncontrollable passionate rage, not expecting that the renunciation would pc accepted. Lupeseu is not a princess, but the daughter of a merchant of Jassy. She is a blue-eyed Jewess, and has been known to the Prince about a year. She accompanied him to London at the time of Qusen Alexandra's funeral. She is a charming woman, characterised by a calm dignity.
