WIRELESS MESSAGES
APPKECIATION OF HOS
PITALITY.
Several wireless messages were sent cut from the' TJlimaroa, bound for Sydney, by Lord Burnha'm, president of the Empire Press Union, on behalf of tho large delegation which left Wellington yeatorday for Australia for the Empire Press Conference at
Melbourne.
To His Excellency the GovernorGeneral, Lord Burnham sent the following wireless message:—
"Imperial Press delegates request me to express to Tour Excellencies our grateful recognition of great courtesy and hospitality that you have extended to us, and the splendid Tyelcome given us by the people of New Zealand.—BlJ3NHAM." '
His Excellency sent the following 'reply:—
"I thank you for your kind message from the delegates of the Empire Press Union,.which will be much appreciated by the Government and people of New Zealand. Your visit lias been most helpful and encouraging to the Dominion, and wo aro grateful for the interest shown in our aspirations and needs. "We wish all a pleasant voyage, and hope to see many of you here again.—FEEGUSSON."
To the Prime Minister, Lord Buraham sent the following wireless message:—
"The delegations of the Imperial Press wish to express their warmest thanks for the splendid hospitality they have received in New Zealand and universal welcome accorded by your Government and citizens throughout Dominion." The Prime Minister replied:— "I thank you sincerely for your telegram. It Jia3 been ayery real pleasure to the people of New Zealand to have had with us the members of the delegations of the Imperial Press. We regret your Visit could not be of longer duration, but we shall always retain most happy memories of your sojourn-in pur land. ?Jpw Zealand cordially extends to all of you an open invitation to come a^ain." • ' ;
A wireless message received from Viscount Burnham by the local newspaper proprietors expresaed great appreciation of all that had been done for the delegation during the NewZealand tour.
