LEAGUE OF NATIONS

SHALL GERMANY SIT?

AMBASSADOR MAKES INQUIRIES.

(Received 2nd August, 1 p.m.)

LONDON, Ist August. Although Germany has not formally applied for admission to the League o"f Nations, it is understood that her Ambassador is inquiring as to Britain's attitude on the subject. There is reason to believe that both Britain and Italy are inclined to support Germany's admission to the next Assembly. If the application i s made it will invest the session of the Assembly with considerable importance, owing to the present European situation.
