STRAND THEATRE.
After a phenomenal run in Wellington, D. W. Griffith's colossal masterpiece, "One Exciting Night," has been transferred to the Strand Theatre for a short season only. In the past years many an innovation has come to the screen, but this latest), handiwork of Griffith is different; it is new; and it is refreshing. Griffith alone seems to have the power of bringing new things; but the public will wonder why this amazing man has neglected mystery so long. For sheer delight of entertadnmertt, one pause? to recall when there, has been its equal on the screen. There is a lift of suspense throughout that grows keener and keener, and wilh the close comes a rush of excitement with quick surprising action that stirs the audience to a tumult. It has everything that makes for entertainment; and only those will be disappointed who think they are going to see a Griffith picture of the type of "Orphans of the Storm," ail historical' spectacle. In addition, a Sjjub Pollard comedy, "Sink or Swim," the latest Pathe Gazette, and an interesting scenic are being screened.
