■The Cuqard liner Mauretania is still ■ cutting down her times between America and the United Kingdom. Latest reports state she has made two new records, being—(l) fastest trip from ' New York to Cherbourg; and (2) fastest trip from New .York to Southampton, since the war. ■ The Mauretania left New York on 18th July, and her actual running time to Southampton was five days eight hours nine minutes, which is only a record because it beats the previous recoTd by two minutes. The notable regularity of time taken by this great' liner in steaming the Atlantic is unrivalled by .a-.railway train.
