HULL AND LIVERPOOL SALES.
LONDON, 7th July. . Seven thousand bales of "Bawra" and New Zealand crossbreds were withdrawn at the Hull sales. On' Thursday 23,000 bales of Australian merinos and crossbreds will be offered. .
LONDON, 6th July. There -were good attendances at the Liverpool wool sales, and keen competition. Merinos were very firm, at London ' closing rates. Fine crossbreds were a shade dearer, and others were unchanged. Continental sorts realised from par to 5 per cent, down, buyers operating freely. The Bradford tops ■ market is quiet, and quotations are slightly easier. Six-ty-fours, 51d to. 53d; fifty-eights, 38d; fifty-sixes, 29d to 30d; forty-sixes, 15d.
Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having received the following cablegram from their London house, under date of 7th instant:—" 'Bawra' wool sales at Liverpool: 21,000 bales offered, 98 per cent, sold; 9000 bales of New Zealand crossbred wool previously withdrawn. Good demand. Continental buyers were especially active owing to suitable offering.
"As compared with the last sales' closing rates pi& London, best merinos and fine crossbred wools market very firm, merino wools of other descriptions j>ar to 5 per cent, lower, lambs' wool a change if any is in sellers' favour. "
