BOXING
DBMSKY AND PRESTON.
The interest displayed in boxing in Wellington is very evident, tho local association having met with considerable success in the matches promoted for the entertainment of patrons. . More than usual interest is being taken in the appearanceof Paul Demsky tb-mbrrow night, and a' largo attendance is assured to greet "the visitor on his first appearance in the Dominion. In training and exhibition bouts, his undoubted ability as a fistic artist has been demonstrated and his quiet, unassuming manner has made him many friends. Although little more than a featherweight, he has already met all the leading Australian lightweights, and tomorrow night will be giving away a lotj o£ weight in his match, with Preston. The' latter, in past matches in the- Dominion, has had to train down to limit 6 set by his opponents, and it is a. new experience for him to be able to taks the ring without having to worry about weight limits. The three preliminaries will commence at 7.45, and the big contest should como on at about 8.45. The demand for seats has created a record for Wellington, and those who have not yet booked should do so at once, Mr. Earl Stewart ■ will -referee,. and th» judges will be Messrs. Hull and Press for ths amateurs, and Messrs. Staples and Woods for the professional contest.
