The downpour of ram did not keep the men, away from Miss L. Napier's conceit at the Sailors' IViend Society on Thursday, when a programme of taste and merit was presented and enjoyed. The performers were the Misses King, Stokes, Crowe, King, Napier, Piloher, Cooper, and M«ssrs. Sander, Barrett, N. Sander, Fox, Green. Mr. Sander was at the piano. Recent gifts to the institute, consisting of stoves, books for the tables, etc., have been much appreciated. The competition prizes came from Masterton and Levin, and Mies M.
