PRE-MILLENNIAL CONFERENCE

The fourth annual conference of the Pre-Millennial Advent Association o£ New Zealand opened yesterday in the Concert Chamber of the Town Hall. Tho afternoon's proceedings were of a formal character. The president, Dr. G. E. 'Week* (Dean of Nelson), welcomed tho various delegates and speakers, and.introduced them to tho members; present. In tho evening, there- was a large attendance when, the president delivered his. inaugural address. It dealt with the allegation that pro-millennial teaching made for pessimism, and instanced, that, on tho contrary, it alone justified hopes of permanent peace and prosperity for the world, inasmuch as these were pledged by the faithful God through Hid returning, regnant Son. i The president's address, was followed by one by Rev. H. G. Howe, Rector of Leiehardt, Sydney, who dealt with "The Source and Subject of Propheoy." Both addresses n-roused deep interest, and there is every prospect of a very successful conference. Meetings are field daily at 3 and 7 p.m. The speakers to-day include the Rev. W. Williams, 8.A., of Wanganui, the Rev. W. Lamb, of Sydney, and Dr. S. Mac Coll, of Melbourne. Mr. V. 0. M'Clay is secretary of the association.
