FINED FOR BOOKMAKING
(BY TELEGRAPH.—PEESS ASSOCIATION.) DUNEDIN, This Day. Convicted on a charge of bookmaking, Austin Walker was fined £25 at the Magistrate's Court to-day. The police statement showed that the accused, who pleaded guilty, had been in business for only nine months. Prior to that he was an engineer on a.boat, and he lost his work when the slump came.
