THE FINAL DAY
IMPORTANT EVENTS.
After to-day's swimming championships there will still remain quite a number of important events for decision, and these are to be included in an attractive programme for the concluding day of the most notable swimming carnival held in the Dominion. The splendid performances already registered at the championships should lr#d up to a great final day at Te Aro Baths next Saturday, and in fine weather some of the keenest competitions of the meeting should be witnessed. Apart from swimming, however, there will be other equally important events, notably the final of the New Zealand diving championship—a very popular item—and the water-polo championship final, in which there is likely to be much play of a strenuous and exciting order. The fact that Miss Pauline Hoeft, who twice broke the world's record oh Tuesday, is to compete again is alone a guarantee of excellent swimming being witnessed. With the many other swimmers at the top of .their form, the final' day's racing is expected to be a rare treat. In view of the great interest in the championships and the inability to accommodate all intending patrons last Saturday, those who desire to be present on the final day would be well advised to book seats. .
