INSURANCE MISREPRESENTATION.
During the second -reading of the Insurance Companies' Deposits Bill in the House last' night, Mr. S. G. Smith (Taranaki) said that there was room for the closest inquiry into the methods of some agent* of insurance companies im New Zealand. Heteferred to what he termed gross misrepresentation and victimisation by a company, of which !h» would give the Minister narticulars. Mr. W. A. Veitch (Wanganui) supported these remarks, and suggested that 7 heavy penalties should be inflicted for misrepresentation. Such penalties, lie said, would be welcomed by those firms doing .legitimate business. The Minister replied that if the names of agents were given he would be glad to deal with the matter. ~<-
