BOXING TOURNEY
An attractive programmo of boxing has been arranged for Friday night in tlio Town' Hall. Pat Glecson and Bob Williams, both ex-champions of New South Wales, will meet yi a six-round exhibition bout. Gleeson has alteady appeared here, and has created a, moat favourable impression. This is Williams's first appearance in Wellington. Both of theeo light-weighta have met every man of class in tho lightweight division in Australia, bar Stone. A second exhibition bout.will see two good boxers in Fred Preston and Carl Calloway matched against eaoh other. Preston, is a very promising Australian light-weight. Calloway, who has a number of fighte to his credit, claims the wel-ter-weight .championship of New Zealand.
In addition to*, these special exhibition bouts, several othor bouts between leading local amateur talent will be put on. Day Bales are at Perry's, Manners-street. The proceeds are in aid of St. Mary's Rebuilding- Fund.
