SOUTH ISLAND MAIN TRUNK
With reference to a statement credited to tho Minister of Public Works (Hon. J. G. Coates) that the coastal route would not bo proceeded with for the South Island Main Trunk railway, Mr. Coates states that no such decision has been made. The ipreseni position is that the Minister requires the information which will be provided by additional surveys which are to be made before the route is chosen.
