BOYS' INSTITUTE SWIMMING CLUB

The first of a series of swimming races -in connection with the Boys' Institute Club took place last evening in the tepid baths, a large number being present. The races were very keenly contested, the starting being in the hands of Mr. Ralph Smith. The 33^ yards handicap for boys under twelve was won by M. Jackson, who defeated F. Tyson on the touch. The 66 yards senior race proved exciting 'both in the heats and the final. The first heat was won by I?. Mollier, H. Humphries being second. The winner of the second heat was D. Nash (Bsec), F. Hickling (scr) being second. In the final all the competitors finished together. Tho result"'wt* I-I. Humphries 1 (Mf. T. H. Coltman's silver medal), F. Mollier (scr) 2. The prizes were presented by Mr. R. Smith, who congratulated the boys oti the splendid performance. A water polo match between tho A and B teams was won by the B team. Messrs. Morpeth and Sommervillo wero the referees.
