BOWLING
WELLINGTON CENTRE,
The executive of the Wellington Bowling Centre met last night, Mr. F. Meadowcroft presiding. Mr. T. Bush, president of the .Dominion Bowling Association, gave a 1 brief address on the subject of the approaching tournament. The council, he said, hoped to make the tournament in January a record for Australasia. The association could not do that without the loyal assistance of the centres. What the executive of the association really wanted was a selection of, say, five members to form a committee to act in conjunction with the executive of the association. He pointed out that the secretary would require a good deal of assistance, and the Disputes Committee would require to be in attendance throughout the tournament, and'other sub-commit-tees would have considerable work to do, and for that reason the executive of the association thought it would be desirable k> have a committee of members vyho were not playing. » The following were elected members of the committee: —Messrs. M. J. Hodgins, J. J. Roberts, G. Hendry, I. Salek, and the Rev. F. H. Petrie.
The treasurer's statement, which was adopted, showed a credit balance of £19 18s 2d, and two accounts aggregating £8 11s. 3d were passed for payment. A letter was received from the Wanganui Centre asking that the question of home and, home inter-centre matches between the Wellington and Wanganui centres should be considered. It was decided to accept the invitation, and the 'secretary was instructed to communicate with the Wanganui Centre, and arrange for the date of the visit of tho Wellington rinks.
