Mr. H. Vickerman, inspecting engineer in the Public Works Department, has resigned from the service.
Mr. James Fletcher, who recently underwent an operation to his knee at Dunedin, returned to Wellington to-day.
Mr. Moses Ayrton, of Palmerston North, national secretary of the New Zealand Labour Party, will shortly make Ms headquarters in Wellington.
Messrs. A. Leigh Hunt, H. Hart, and C. .7. Ward have been elected delegates to represent the Central Chamber of Commerce at the annual conference of Associated Chambers next month.
Mr. W. G. Bell has succeeded Mr. Norman T. Williams as manager in Auckland for the National Insurance Company. Mr. Williams has retired owing to ill-health after twenty years' service as manager. , ' ■ \
Mr. L. J. Watkin, who .during the past twenty years has been director of drawing instruction under the W anganui Education Board, has accepted the appointment as Lecturer on Art at the Wellington Training College, and Super/visor of Art/Under .the Wellington Education Board.
Mr. D. M. Kean, late chairman of the Wellington Tennis Association's Management Committee, was accorded a hearty vote of thanks at the annual meeting last evening for the valuable services he had given towards furthering the game during his, name with the association. Mr. Kean is retiring from active membership of the association.
The announcement was made at the quarterly meeting of the Board of Management _of Wesley Church, Taranakistreet, last evening, that the Rev. H. E. Bellhouse had accepted a unanimous invitation to remain as superintend minister of the circuit for another year. The Eov. J. Ward was appointed 1 for another year in charge of the Brooklyn^ part of the circuit. \ „
