TO-DAY'S BUSINESS.

The business set down for this afternoon in the House of Representatives is the second reading of the Animals Protection Bill, and the Companies Act Amendment Bill, but Ministerial statements and reports of Select Committees will intervene. The Minister for Education has a statement to make regarding teachers, salaries, and the Butter Prices Committee also will make its report. The. amendments "to the Counties' Amendment Bill will be submitted, and will probably be discussed, and the Labour Bills Committee's report' or the Workers Compensation for Accidents Bill is alto expected. The Law Draftsman Bill, .which proposes to give this officer the status of a Parliamentary, official, may also be introduced by Govern-nor-General's Message. The recent "stone-wall" on the Gaming Amendment Bih ha* considerably delayed tiho work of the Committees, to which various Bills had been referred, but there is plenty of material forward to keep Parliament busy.
