FOR AUSTRALIA
DOMINION RIFLE TEAM.
The New Zealand Rifle Team for Ausr tralia leaves for Sydney to-morrow. Owing to Major Doull's inability to obtain leave of absence under satisfactory conditions, Major: Dunne, secretary of the D.R.A., has been appointed to take his place. Sergeant Loveday has cabled the Executive Officer (Colonel Collins) that he is unable to compete in Australia, and Rifleman Patrick, of Auckland, was offered the. place in the team, but he was unable to accept. Rifleman Govenlock, of Masterton, has been chosen inEtead. Rifleman Croxton cables from Sydney that West and himself are awaiting the New Zealand Rifle Team, and that both are well. Most of the team are now in Wellington, and Colonel Collins met them this afternoon to complete all arrangements for their departure. Authority to wear New Zealand uniforms has been obtained, and these will be issued from the Defence Ordnance Stores. At Sydney the team .will camp on the range, as the distance from the city js too great to permit of travelling backwards and forwards daily.
