PROTECTION OF OPOSSUMS.
'JJn«ler*the Animals. Protection Amendment Bill, which was introduced into the House of Representatives last evening, it is proposed to givei protection to opossums. The Bill provides that after April n'esj> it .shall not be lawful for anyone to kill opossums; but power is given the Governor-General-in-Council to define districts in which opossums may be killed.
:The pairs oh ths Gaining Bill were transposed in The Post report yesterday. Those stated as pairing to vote "Aye" did so to vote "No," and vice versa.
