TAUHERENIKAU FARM
RESOLUTIONS BY TRAINEES.
A general, meeting of trainees on. the Repatriation Farm at Tauherenikau was held by permission of the manager last week with the object of opening a. Welfare ".Committee to look alter the interests of trainees generally, and to make suggestions that might lead to an improvement in the general conditions. Mr. A. Groves presided. A committee was formed with Mr. Roberts as president, and a secretary was also appointed. It v;aa resolved to urge (1) that a rouseabout be engaged for general cleaning ■work on the farm, this Wng regarded as unsuitable for T.B. men ; (2) that men sent to the farm "by the medical authorities should receive full and supplementary pensions; (3) that no more trainees should be sent to the farm until adequate accommodation is provided and sanitary conditions improved; (4) that more instruction should be given in agriculture,' the raising of stock and pigs,, and fruit-growing; (5) that Messrs. Aldridge (secretary of the Wellington E.8.A.) and Aicken be requested to pay a visit to the farm when the Repatriation officer ifl present. A number of minor recommendations were also made.
