ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL

TWO CHARITY CUP FINALS.

The semi-fjnal of the senior grade Charity Cup' competition and the finals of the junior and fourth-class competitions were played at Association Park on Saturday afternoon in the presence of a fair number of' spectators. The senior game, between V.M.C.A. and Instituta, was keenly contested, victory finally going to the former team by two goals to ons, Thorndon and Karori were the contestants in the junior final. { Although Thorndon won by four goals to one, tha, game was by no means ■one-sided,/ both sides playing with considerable dash. Faulty shooting robbed tho suburban team of many excellent opportunities, and, in addition, Henderson (the Thorndon "goalie") played at the top of his form, bringing, off some brilliant saves. Pridmore (2)-, Morgan, and Anton scored for the winners, and Russell registered Karon's only goal. Mr. W. G. Bryca was referee. In the fourth B final, between Thorndon and Seatoun, each sid,c scored one goal, an additional twer/ty minutes' play making no difference to the tally. Mr. Bowles acted as referee.
