The mO3t interesting feature in the returns furnished by the Electric Usghtinß Department of the City Council, and covering the first six month? of the current finanical year, concerns the working expenses. Compared with the same period ■last year theee increased by £17,000, the figures being £29,472 in 1919 and £46.472 in 1920. The number of units sold over the same period increased by 296,210, and tho revenue by £4654. The revenue for the six months was £61.491 and the working expenses £46.472. The credit balance stands ot £6523, as against £18,869 at tho end o£ September last year.
