(BEDTBS'3 TILEORAM.) MADRID, 7tti October. A general strike, apparently of a revolutionary character, has broken out throughout Portugal. The postal, telegraphy and telephone employees,^ naval reservists, railwayman, and dockers have all ceased 1 work.

LONDON, 7th October. The Portuguese Legation states that the strike reports are exaggerated. There is only a partial railway strike. Many trains are running, and there have been no disturbances.
