FOR SOLDIER PATIENTS

LAHMAN HOME LEASED

Tli© Minister of Defence, Sir James Allen, states that the Lahinan Home at Miramar has been leased for the treatment of soldier .patients. A rumour was current yesterday that the building was to be used for neurasthenic cases, but this impression is not correct. The Minister said to-day that no specialisation had been arranged for the Miramar place. It is intended to take the overflow from the Victoria Ward. It had been proposed to add some accommodation to the Victoria Ward, but in deference to tho wishes of the Hospital Board the Department decided to go further afield. The building at Miramar was well adapted for the Department's purpose. It was understood that the accommodation would be ample for present needs. As the demand increased additional rooms could be attached to the institution.
