KAISER AND HIS VETERANS
REBUILDING THE FATHERLAND
According to a Berlin telegram in the Cologne Gazette, the Kaiser lias replied as follows to the message of the Prussian National Soldiers' League and the German Soldiers' Association :—
"We owe our victory to the military nnd moral virtues of the. 1 German army, which also had a strengthening and steeling effect on those at home. We can faco further development with full confidence. Great and serious tasks at home await us in the next few years. For their fulfilment I need the reliable support of unselfish and dutiful men who have their country's welfare at heart. I know that in this I can count on the old soldiers, who will carry the spirit of the Prussian and German army and the spirit of my grandfather, who is now with God, into a world changed by war, and (vill form the corner stono upon which we can build up the Fatherland's future. May God bless our splendid war-proved people."
