COLD WEATHER

Another stiff frost (nine degrees) was experienced in Wellington last night, and two points of rain fell early in tho evening. Rain also foil in other parts of the Dominion, and reports from Queenstown and other stations in the high country in the South stated that snow was falling at 9 o'clock this morning. Strong and squally southerly winds have predominated, and tho barometer has risen considerably in the South with thedeparture eastward of the storm area.

The present indications are for moderate to strong southerly breezes, squally at times, with cold and changeable conditions and scattered showers. A very cold night may be expected generally, with frosts inland and hard frosts in the South. A heavy swell is likely south of Castlepoint and on all the western coast.
