KILBIRNIE HALL CONCERT
A bright entertainment was^given in the Kilbirnie Hall on Saturday evening in aid of tho Camp Entertainment Fund. Dr. A. K. Newman, M.P., and Mr. R. A. Wright, M.P., were present, and the spacious building was comfortably filled. To the accompaniment of Beggs's orchestra, which also rendered orchestral numbers, three small children, Misses 1. Wolfgang, M. Mountier, and 11. Wortley, gave three dancing items with nimbleness of body and accuracy of time sur. pricing for performers so young. Master Tom George sang sweetly "Where My Caravan Has Rested," and Mr. Liddlfi received rounds of applause for several very acceptable solos. An amusing sketch, entitled "The Thespians," was well produced, while another dialogue, "The Unlikely Pupil," was favourably received. Two well-chosen recitations by Mr. V. R. Oswin. were given in capital style; they contributed' materially to the excellence of the programme, as did tho songs by Miss N. Castle, Miss V. Mueller, and Miss M. Newman. During the evening Dr. Newman briefly addressed the audience on the subject-of tho war.
