A REQUIEM MASS

A Solemn Requiem Mass was held at Petone Catholic Church this morning for the repose of the soul of the lat© Chaplain M'Menamiu. There was a large congregation present, amongst whom wore his Grace Archbishop O'Shea, Monsignor M'Kenna, Deans Holley, Power, and Lane, Fathers M'Kenna, Devoy, Dignan, Cashman, Guinane, Cronin, Fitzgibbon, and M'Donald. Mrs. M'Menamin (mother) and the sisters and brothers of the deceased were also present. The celebrant was the Rev. Father Kimbell, Rev. Father Campbell being deacon, the Rev. Father Phclan subdeacon, and Father O'Connor master of ceremonies. Dean Power preached an eloquent sermon from the text, " Vshall ascend into th_e mount of the Lord?" A choir of priests rendered the Psalms'.
