ABOUT A DEPUTATION
"W4 tako strong exception to a paragraph appearing in The Post this week regarding the hurried manner in which deputations interview Ministers of the Crown," stottod Mr. W. T. Young, enorotary of the Seamen's Federation, to-day. "The inference to be taken from the jxiragraph was that it referred more particularly to the deputation from marine bodies which waited on the acting-Prime Minister and Minister for Marine in reference to interned crews. The blame was not with us, but with the Ministers concerned. For over two months ■we had been endeavouring to arrange the deputation, the reception. of which was postponed time and again. As a matter of fact, it was 11 o'clock on Monday when I received intimation that the deputation would be heard at 4.15 that afternoon. It is not the.first occasion upon which deputations have been hurriedly received, and tie blame is more • often on the shoulders of the Cabinet Ministers. At any rate, such was the case in this instance."
