COMMISSION HEARS EVIDENCE AT

DUNEDIN.

DUNEDIN, This Day. The Waterfront Accidents Commission sat a.t Dnnedin to-day and completed the evidence of the Port Chalmers AVorkers, also of the Bluff watersiders, who came specially to give evidence.

One witness stated that an improved system of inspection on the waterfront should include inspection of ships' holds prior to produce being stored in them He quoted an instance in which he saw twenty-four rats killed in. a hold which w.as half-full of cheese.

Another witness urged daily inspection of the gear as an additional factor of safety.

The employers' evidence will be taken this afternodn.
